Research topics

The institute brings together more than 170 scientists and technical staff with a range of expertise from theoretical chemistry through biochemistry, analytical chemistry, electrochemistry … to physics. ISA has also a wide and cutting edge equipment unique even world-class instrumentation.
Research focuses on the development of new methods through continuing technological innovation for analysis of challenging systems. The Institute has set up its research activities into 5 axis and 5 applications fields (see below).

ISA is involved in initial training: coordination of the Master in Analytical Chemistry and the option formulation and industrial chemistry of the master in Chemistry as well as in continuing training (via CNRS formation entreprises and Focal Lyon1).

The Institute contributes also in technology transfer (patents, start-ups) and in committees of national and european organizations for standardization.
